President Hinkley said What? When?

In August of 2007 the US markets had hit an all time high.  A devastating crash hit the country in the years to come.  Many lost their homes, their jobs and their savings.  10 months before the crash, the LDS faithful met together for their semi annual conference to listen to their leaders speak.  Many people had a false sense of security at that time.  I wonder how many thought these words did not apply to them.  This is what the President of the church said during a very prosperous time:

“The best food storage is not in welfare grain elevators but in sealed cans and bottles in the homes of our people. What a gratifying thing it isgordon-b-hinckley-lds-leader-83243-tablet to see cans of wheat and rice and beans under the beds, or in the pantries of women who have taken welfare responsibility into their own hands.
