There are a few recipes out there that are so awesomely easy, it’s not wonder they’ve made their way into the food world as a foundation piece. Pasta is one of those recipes, tortillas are another.
This is what you need….ready… here goes:
2 cups Flour
Pinch of Salt
¾ cups Water
3 tablespoons Olive Oil (Veggie oil would work to, just a slightly different flavor)
That’s It!!! 4 ingredients and you’ve got the fixin’s for a meal!
– Mix Flour and salt together before adding the wet ingredients. Slowly add the water and oil mixing as you go. When you have a ball of dough that no longer sticks to your hands, your done. Let the ball rest about 10-15 minutes to allow the magic to happen. By letting the dough rest the dry and liquid ingredients will combine together and are less likely to fall apart as you stretch it into discs.
– Divide the dough into even portioned balls about 1 -2 inches in size
– Roll out until the tortilla is less than ¼ inch thick. (If you have a pasta press, you could use that instead of rolling)
– Heat up skillet and cook for about 1 minute on each side, or until golden brown.
***Here’s a tip: instead of stopping with a tortillas, cut the uncooked tortilla into triangles, spray with olive oil cooking spray and bake at 350° to make chips***
